Rss chief mohan bhagwat birthday: The Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mohan Madhukarrao Bhagwat is celebrating birthday today. Mohan Bhagwat’s name is recorded as the youngest Sarsanghchalak after Madhavrao Sadashiv Golwalkar. He got the command of the Sangh in 2009 at the age of just 59.
RSS is three generations old
Bhagwat’s family has three-generation ties with the RSS. His grandfather Narayan Bhagwat used to be a classmate of Sangh’s founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. After the establishment of the Sangh in 1925, Narayan Bhagwat started the work of the Sangh. Narayan Bhagwat’s son Madhukar Bhagwat has also been a pracharak of the Sangh. Mohan Bhagwat’s father and grandfather were both lawyers.
Early Life of Mohan Bhagwat
Born on 11 September 1950 in Sangli, Maharashtra, Mohan Bhagwat did his studies till 12th from Chandrapur. After this Bhagwat took admission in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Veterinary College, Akola. After completing his studies, he started a job as a Veterinary Officer in the Department of Animal Husbandry in Chandrapur itself.
RSS pracharak became during emergency
After the Emergency was imposed in 1975, Bhagwat’s parents were imprisoned. During this time Bhagwat also became a pracharak of the Sangh. He remained in anonymity during the Emergency. After 1977, he made rapid progress in the Sangh. In 1991, he was given the charge of All India Physical Chief in the Sangh. He remained in this post till 1999.
Sarkaryavah suddenly formed in 2000
In the year 2000, the then Sarsanghchalak Rajju Bhaiya and Sarkaryavah VN Seshadri have announced their resignation due to health reasons. KS in place of Rajju Bhaiya. Sudarshan was elected as the new Sarsanghchalak while two names Madan Das Devi and Mohan Bhagwat were running for Sarkaryavah. Eventually Mohan Bhagwat became the Sarkaryavah. After the Sarsanghchalak in the RSS, the post of Sarkaryavah is the most important. Sarkaryavah is naturally considered the next successor.
RSS chief in 2009
During the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, Mohan Bhagwat was made the Sarsanghchalak in the meeting of the All India Pratinidhi Sabha on March 21, 2009. Sudarshan was getting relieved from the responsibility of his Sarsanghchalak due to health reasons. As soon as he became the RSS chief, he first rejuvenated the BJP. Nitin Gadkari was crowned as the President of BJP, which has lost two consecutive elections. In 2013, the Sangh agreed to the prime ministerial candidacy of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, whose leadership has led the BJP to cross the majority mark for two consecutive Lok Sabha elections.
