The first dose of Corona vaccine was taken by President Ramnath Kovind
New Delhi: Vaccination has started in the country from March 1. Meanwhile, Indian President Ramnath Kovind today administered the first dose of corona vaccine in Delhi. The President administered the corona vaccine at the Army Hospital Research and Referral (RR) Hospital in New Delhi.
The third phase of corona vaccination has started in the country from March 1. In this phase, free vaccination will be given free of cost to the senior citizens (above 60 years of age) and those above 45 years of age in government hospitals. In the third phase, 75-year-old Kovind has taken the first dose of the vaccine today.
More than 50 lakh eligible persons have registered for vaccination in the country. Out of this, six lakh 44 thousand citizens were given time on the first day. On the first day, along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior NCP leaders like Sharad Pawar and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were also vaccinated. Modi took a dose of Kovacin from Bharat Biotech.
The next day, on Tuesday, Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and some other Union Ministers were vaccinated. MLAs and MPs have also been included in this phase of the vaccination campaign. Health Minister Harsh Vardhan appealed to the Opposition MPs and their families to get vaccinated instead of objecting to the vaccines.
